F10.7 Value Used

This calculator is based on a spherical harmonic model derived using Swarm level 2 Dedicated Ionospheric Field Inversion (DIFI) algorithm. It describes the diurnal, seasonal and solar cycle variations of the primary ionospheric field and its secondary (induced) counterpart at the Earth's surface. (The model also works at LEO altitudes, but this feature is not implemented in the present online calculator.) The model domain of validity is +/- 55 degrees in quasi-dipole latitudes. Any request at higher latitudes will return a non-physical result.
